NetCount V0.8.5

NetCount is a counter for the time you spent online in the internet. It reports the corrresponding amount of connections and costs either per month or per single session.
This project is part of urgent needed utilities for the operatingsystem BeOS.
Nicolas Mougel must be named in first place as the one who had the idea to realize this project, I came across with him to help with development.

The first version released to the public by Nicolas Mougel was 0.6 (available at BeBits). This utilitiy gave me the intention to add more certain functions, like the possibility to manage the costs per connection with different rate parameters.


The application :

The application is devided into three big parts, the main-window, the calendar for the tariffs and the history.

The main window

It shows the amount of connections and the time spent in the internet in summarize, and when you are connected, the current time spent and its cost. After you cut the connection, its duration is shown and it is added to the total time and costs.



The deskbar

In this version NetCount shows its presence and calculation in the deskbar.
With a single click onto the deskbar-icon you can toogle between the running time or the summarize.



The calendar

Here you can manipulate the rates hour for hour.
A single click with the right mouse-button onto one field in the calendar opens a popup-window which contains the latest tariffs definded in the preferences. Choose one by moving the mouse-pointer over it.
The little icon in the top-left corner allows you to enter the preferences for the calendar.
The other little icons in the middle of the calendar indicate the position of the choosen time and consequently the corresponding tariff.
If you want to make the modifications for the whole day or a hour of the week, move the pointer to the day on the top or the hour on left side, repeat the right-click choosing a rate and your done!

And last but not least here you may define the preferences for the different tariffs, for fixed costs, for cost per connection together with specified costs per hour.

    

    

The History-window.

In this window you can view the information about already made connections, either detailed or shown per month.
It is also possible to delete or add different connections.
At the edge down the window the summary of the total of time and costs of your connections is shown.



The preferences of the application

This is the place where you finally can configure the preferences of NetCount, the colors, the startup-parameters, etc....
( This windows is accessable through "Settings" in the options-menu )
